We’re bringing together a small group of Ledger readers, bourbon enthusiasts and fellow Charlotteans for a guided tasting of a curated lineup of bourbons and whiskeys — all while raising awareness and funds for The Election Hub, a local nonprofit working to make nonpartisan election information easier for voters to find, understand and use.
In true Ledger style, there will be no fancy ballroom or lengthy speeches. Just good bourbon, interesting people and an opportunity to support a local organization helping voters better understand what’s on their ballots.

Democracy is complicated.
Bourbon doesn’t have to be.
Throughout the evening, we’ll taste a curated selection of approximately five bourbons and whiskeys, with a guided conversation about each pour: what you’re drinking, what makes it interesting and what you might notice when you taste it.
The final bottle lineup is still being assembled, which means we can’t tell you exactly what will be in your glass just yet, but be prepared for the ultimate experience.

The reason behind the pours
There’s a lot on a ballot.

The Election Hub provides nonpartisan election information designed to make it easier for voters to find, understand and act on what’s on their ballots. The organization currently serves Mecklenburg, Gaston and Cabarrus counties, bringing together information about races, candidates, voting dates and more.
It isn’t there to tell you who to vote for.
It’s there to make it easier to understand what you’re voting on.
Proceeds from Democracy, Neat will help support The Election Hub’s work to keep election information free and accessible to voters.
